Mt. Baker Sign Policy
| Theft of ski area warning signs (such as "Cliff", "Extreme Danger" or "Ski Area Boundary" signs) can ENDANGER SOMEONE'S LIFE or cause serious injury and will result in full prosecution! The minimum fine is $500 for anyone in possession of, or responsible for, the theft of any Mt. Baker Ski Area warning sign. |

Applicable Washington State Laws
RCW 9A.36.050 Reckless endangerment. (1) A person is guilty of reckless endangerment when he or she recklessly engages in conduct...that creates a substantial risk of death or serious physical injury to another person. RCW 79A.45.030 Standard of conduct — Prohibited acts — Responsibility. (1) In addition to the specific requirements of this section, all skiers shall conduct themselves within the limits of their individual ability and shall not act in a manner that may contribute to the injury of themselves or any other person. (2) No person shall: (d) Wilfully engage in any type of conduct which may injure any person... RCW 9A.56.140 Possessing stolen property — Definition — Presumption. (1) "Possessing stolen property" means knowingly to receive, retain, possess, conceal, or dispose of stolen property knowing that it has been stolen and to withhold or appropriate the same to the use of any person other than the true owner or person entitled thereto. (2) The fact that the person who stole the property has not been convicted, apprehended, or identified is not a defense to a charge of possessing stolen property.
